AFCON 2021 Day 7: Super Eagles Cruise Past Sudan to Qualify For Next Round

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have cruised past the Jediane of Sudan by 3-1 in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021) to book their place in the next round of the competition. 

The Super Eagles on Saturday took the lead in the early minutes of the game when their Villarreal wing wizard Samuel Chukwueze scored in the 3rd minute, after he received a pass from Simon Moses.

Despite pressing the Super Eagles for an equalizer through counter-attacks, the Jediane of Sudan were unable to break through their defence. 

The Super Eagles doubled their lead shortly before the break in the 45th minute through their striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

They added another goal through Moses Simon in the 46th minute of the game shortly after the start of the second half to make it 3-0.

The Jediane of Sudan scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot in the 70th minute of the game through their 26 years old midfielder Waliedin Khidir. 

The game ended 3-1 in favour of the Super Eagles who are tipped by the bookies as the favourite to win the AFCON 2021.
