According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, Gambian-Swedish boxer Badou Jack and Haiti-born Jean Pascal will fight a rematch on the undercard of the show headlined by Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul on June 6.
Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KOs) earned a narrow split-decision victory over Jack in their December 2019 title showdown that saw both men hit the canvas. Before that fight, Pascal captured his interim title by handing Marcus Browne the first defeat of his professional career.
Jack rebounded from the defeat by beating Blake McKernan by unanimous decision in November. Pascal, meanwhile, hasn’t stepped inside the ring since their encounter.
Jack (22-3-3, 13 KOs) will look to avenge the razor-thin defeat he suffered to Pascal in their first match. Jack mounted an impressive rally on the scorecards that nearly turned the match in his favor. Born in Stockholm, Jack (who represented his father’s home country of Gambia in the 2008 Olympics) now lives in Las Vegas.
Jack is signed to Mayweather Promotions, making him a natural addition for the June 6 pay-per-view. He and Pascal crossed paths in December 2019, with Pascal earning a split-decision victory.
Per CompuBox (via BoxingScene), Jack landed nearly 100 more punches (244) compared to Pascal (155), but they were almost identical in power punches (124 for Jack, 120 for Pascal).
ESPN.com ranks Pascal sixth in the light heavyweight division, with Jack following closely behind in ninth.
