The President of the Kyrgyzstan Football Union, Kanat Mamatov has on Wednesday announced that negotiations are currently underway with officials of The Gambia national team to play a friendly game in October.

The Kyrgyz football president said he is hopeful that matches will take place on October 8 with The Gambia Scorpions and on the 12 with Singapore at the Dolon Omurzakov stadium in Bishkek.

In September, Bishkek hosted the Three Nations Cup. Kyrgyzstan ranked first, beating Palestine (1:0) and Bangladesh (4:1).

The Scorpions need some friendly games to test the squad and warm-up ahead of their first participation in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Missing the ongoing round of the FIFA world cup qualifiers, the Scorpions did not take full advantage of the FIFA international break that is just about to end.

Meanwhile, sparring partners like Kyrgystan could be an option to assemble the Boys and put them to the task.
