Struggling second division club, Greater Tomorrow, ended PSV Wellingara’s unbeaten run last Sunday in a match played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Thursday.

In what was a huge result for the victors, the 4 pm match kick off saw Greater Tomorrow beat PSV 1-0. But despite that shocking defeat, PSV remain the table-toppers in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league 2021/22 football season, as two closest rivals dropped two points apiece.

A win for PSV could have widened their lead to 5 points. Losing their next match is not an option as they could potentially lose the top spot if BK Milan and Immigration win, who are both on 13 points.

Before the match, Greater Tomorrow had only 3 points courtesy of their lone win since the beginning of the season. They were occupying 16th position in the league table and on the same point with 17th-placed Latrikunda United, leading the latter on goal difference. This win placed them on 6 points now and a move away from the relegation zone to stay little below mid-table.

Meanwhile, BK Milan and Immigration FC have both dropped two points in their week-six fixtures in the second division league football last week.

Both teams drew in their matches, as they failed the opportunity to equal the table-toppers on 15 points who have lost a goal to nil for the first time since the resumption of the league. It was the first loss for PSV who were on a winning spree, with a maximum record of five wins out of five matches.

Milan and Immigration were on 12 points apiece in week-four of the division’s league. Both teams have lost in their previous matches (week-five). Kanifing East held Immigration to a 1-1 draw at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum. BK Milan were held by Jarra West to a 2-2 draw at the Soma Mini Stadium.
