Turkey Training Camp – Gambia Wins Niger 2-0 in First Test Game

Afcon debutants, “The Scorpions” of The Gambia, on Saturday, had a victorious opposition (2-0) at the Turkish Emirhan Sports Center of Antalya for their first international friendly match after a historical qualification to play Cameroon hosted African Cup of Nations in January.

Coach Tom Saintfiet’s boys, led by their captain Omar Colley had an opener in the first half by Suleiman Jallow (28?). The second goal was scored in the dying minutes of the encounter by Mohammed Badammosi (91?).

The Gambia has a 26-man squad for their camp in Turkey, with nine new candidates to make it to the Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon. After beating Niger, the Scorpions square up against the Dardanians of Kosovo six days later at the same venue. The Scorpions will have two more friendlies lined up against Comoros and Togo.
