Decision Determines Destiny or 3D Gam, the national chapter of the 3D Global, yesterday signed an MoU with the Ministry of Youth and Sports that will pave way for greater collaboration between the government and the Foundation in youth development. The ceremony took place at the President’s International Award center presided over by the Homeland General, (head of 3 D Gambia cabinet), Lamin Jawara and deputy PS MoYs Lamin A Camara.
Introducing the ceremony Borri Darboe, Ambassador at -large of 3D Gambia said his organisation is a foundation of like-minded individuals who want to radiate goodness in mankind with a plain progressive agenda with no ifs, no buts! “The scope of our operation is apolitical, nonreligious, non-ethnic/tribal or section based. Summarily, our objective is to provide support for technological educational, economic and sociocultural improvement of the disadvantaged in communities. The objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to enable a more collaborative engagement and recognition between 3DGam and MoYs.”
At the signing ceremony, both DPS Camara and 3D Gam’s Homeland General Lamin S Jawara drew satisfaction for the realization of the MoU after a long period of engagement. Mr Jawara said he and his (cabinet) members and regional coordinators have been working tirelessly and engaging the ministry culminating in the signing ceremony.
The guest of honour at the ceremony, veteran journalist Demba Ali Jawo said he has been associated with 3D Gambia for some time now adding that he has strong admiration for the Foundation’s selfless and inspirational role in youth development in both human rights and general development of the mind towards productivity. The ceremony was also twinned with a presentation of prizes in the form of furniture, certificates cash and transportation of presented materials to six schools who topped the nation wide human rights competition that featured 140 schools organised by the Foundation. The schools are Nustrat Senior, Model Senior, Massembeh Lower Basic, Kerr Pateh Senior, Kinderdorff Bottrop and Njaba Kunda Upper and Senior Secondary School. The Foundation also presented its literature on drug awareness and human rights issues to the line institutions of the MoYs, such as the NYSS, PIA, NYC, NSC among others. The Foundation’s international relations officer, Bisenty Gomez challenged the MoYS officials to work even harder to make good use of the guides provided to educate, empower and equip the youths of the country who form over 60 percent of the population. He closed the ceremony with a rapturous congratulations to the 3 D Gam cabinet and foot solders as well as chairman and secretary general, Amadou Marong.
