Alfusainey Jatta, Pinzgau Saalfelden’s latest signing had impressed already in pre-season friendlies. However, the Austrian Regional League curtain raiser against SV Wals-Grunau on Saturday, is where he had his first real test. Jatta did not fail to impress, scoring on the 31st minute to his side’s 3-1 victory.
The midfielder is on a one-year and six month loan with the Austrian outfits from MFK Yyskov of the Czech Republic.
“It feels great to score a goal in my debut game, “Jatta tells The Chronicle. “The team has a player who is very good at set pieces and I also use my strength to head the ball anytime we have such in the game.”
However, Jatta has now set his sight on helping his team gain promotion to the Austrian Premiership. Pinzgau Saalfelden F.C are currently leading the standings in the Austria regional liga, in other words, 3rd Division.
He’s confident that his team have what it takes to secure the ticket for top tier football come next seasons. “The club’s goal is to gain promotion and I am here to help them achieve that dream, “he said. “We will continue working as a team. That’s so important for our journey to promotion. “My target is to continue scoring in every game to better myself and also help the team.”
