West Coast derby in GFF league

Separated only by the Nyambai Forest, Brikama Utd and Fortune FC of Farato have become big rivals in the national league. Brikama UTD is much older in the league but Fortune has proven to be a hard nut to crack and had been killing many giants in the league. The two will clash in Basori in the GFF first division league this evening.

Brikama United currently occupies 5th place, 4 points behind Fortune FC who are at the top of the table.

Modou Lamin Nyassi, coach of Brikama United expressed both optimism and caution saying a match of this magnitude brings pride into play.

” They are on form and so far the only team to win 3 matches out of 5. We are going for a win but again, we know it will not be

easy,” he said. His rival, coach Jane Joof the coach of Fortune FC admitted the match would not be easy.

Fortune has been leading the table since colleting three points from Real De Banjul in the week three fixtures and so far

conceded only one goal.

In other fixtures, second place Gambia Ports Authority GPA FC will face third place Gambia Armed Forces at the Independence Stadium.

At the NTTC, Gamtel FC will hope to have two wins from two when they host bottom club Banjul United.

On Sunday,Real De Banjul will host Waa Banjul in Basori, Hawks face Marimoo at the Stadium while Elite United and Wallidan meet at the NTTC in Yundum.
