NCC meets tomorrow as Afcon campaign starts

Following its recent inauguration by Vice President Dr. Isatou Touray, the National Coordinating Committee NCC for Afcon 2021 will tomorrow, Friday hold a meeting at the Independence Stadium.

The meeting which will be chaired by Sports minister Bakary Badjie.

At its first meeting on September 1, the NCC was tasked with the responsibility of raising at least, D117 and agreed to request support from corporate bodies in order to allow them to use the product in a certain way. The NCC meeting also discussed the need for all to support the national campaign by patronising fundraising drives which will be rolled out by the NCC soon.

Minister Badjie assured that despite the cancellation of the planned training camp in The Comoro Islands, there would be some other test matches or training camps with the availability of funds. Sequel to this, the NCC agreed to consider GFF’s plan to host Sierra Leone in a test match in addition to earlier planned test matches and training camps to be held later this year.

Following a lengthy discussion on the fundraising strategies at the meeting that also witnessed the establishment of sub-committees, members agreed for the sub-committees to further study the outlined strategies and report back to the meeting tomorrow on their action points and time lines.
