Host Gambia beat Guinea 3-0 in the final to win the West African deaf football tourney at the Independence Stadium Sunday. The round-robin tourney was competed among four nations- Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Guinea and The Gambia. The home boys started and completed their campaign with a bang. They opened the tourney with a 4-2 spanking of Liberia before moving to see off Sierra Leone 2-0.

Their form peaked in the final match when they beat off a stiff resistance from Guinea to win 3-0.

A happy Gambia Deaf Sports Association president Lamin Ceesay congratulated the Gambian team and thanked the government and all those who stood by them to host a successful event.
