Celtic and Liverpool were just two clubs linked with a move for Sampdoria defender Omar Colley over the summer. The Hoops had a GBP10m bid turned down for the 28-year-old but the Serie A side are now looking to sell the centre-back – and plenty of Hoops fans want Celtic to go back in for the Gambia international.
Sampdoria reportedly want to do everything they can to recover their 2020 financial losses by selling Colley, who is valued at GBP11m. That means the Hoops would need to break their transfer record to secure Colley’s services unless they can manage to negotiate a deal under GBP9m.
We shared the update regarding Sampdoria’s stance on the defender on our Read Celtic Facebook page.
We asked if a centre-back should be a priority, with many giving the club the thumbs-up to reignite their interest in the African defender.
Colley has only made two league appearances this season, so if the Hoops are still keen, a deal could be possible during the January window.
