GAMBIA: BREAKING NEWS: FLEEING ACCESS BANK TWO BANK MANAGERS, ACCUSED OF STEALING D21.4M ARRIVED IN BANJUL TODAY AFTER BEEN ARRESTED IN SENEGAL!

“We can officially confirm that, the two suspects Juldeh Jallow and Sarjo Corr in Access Bank, Barra branch fraud case have been arrested and are currently helping the Police in their investigations,” police spokesman Superintendent Lamin Njie told Freedom Newspaper.

The two bank managers: Sarjo Corr and Momodou Juldeh Jallow reportedly stole D21.4 million dalasis from the bank’s safes this past weekend and fled to neighboring Senegal. A police manhunt led to their arrest and subsequent transportation to Banjul. The arresting team arrived in Banjul today, while having the duos under their custody.

“This morning our officer have been able to receive the two suspects because we followed them all the way into Senegal and the effort paid dividend, so, they have been currently arrested and they are in the hands of the police and investigations will continue,” spokesman Njie remarked.

When asked to shed light on how Corr and Jallow were arrested, Njie said details regarding their arrest would be communicated to be media later.

“They arrived today, and we are going to get into some details about the issues surrounding their arrest, so hopefully tomorrow, we can provide you with any details surrounding their arrest,” he added.

The police spokesman said some unspecified amount of money was found in the possession of Sarjo Corr and Momodou Juldeh Jallow. He said the suspects are currently helping the police in their investigations.

“There are some amount of money, unconfirmed though, but there are some unconfirmed amount of money that has been recovered from them so far. But we cannot yet say specifically how much amount is this or so, but we will be able to do this tomorrow,” Njie said.

Njie says the police would get to the bottom of the Barra Bank fraud case and anyone suspected to be affiliated with the incident would be questioned. He said the suspects would have their fate in court when the investigations are completed.

“All this issue will be properly investigated. No stone will be left unturned, any connection with anybody within or outside will all be looked into properly and diligently, so, that we will be to have a comprehensive finding and report out of this whole case at the end of the day,” Mr. Njie remarked.
