GAMBIA: BREAKING NEWS: FUGITIVE OUSMAN SANNEH, AKA BAITULAI AND THREE OTHERS, HAVE DEFRAUDED ALIEU BADARA SECKA $92,000 DOLLARS AFTER PROMISING TO SUPPLY HIM 35 KILOS OF GOLD DUST-HIGH COURT PAPERS REVEALED!

Gambia’s Justice Ministry and the High Court in Banjul have confirmed that there is a pending criminal case before the High Court against Ousman Sanneh, AKA Baitulai, Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Mr. Omar Sanneh and three others: Amadou Jago Sowe, Samba Leigh, and Modou Jallow have been accused of defrauding one Alieu Badara Secka, the sum of ninety-two thousand dollars ($92,000). Judicial sources said Sanneh and his co accused persons had promised to provide thirty-five (35) Kilos of gold dust to Mr. Secka, which they never did, thereby committing an offence.

Omar Sanneh is living in exile in neighboring Casamace, Senegal. He jumped police bail in 2018, after been accused of circulating hate speech on social media. The fugitive has since been on the run.

Count one of the court papers filed before the High Court in Banjul revealed that it was back in 2012, “when Amadou Jago Sowe, Samba Leigh, Omar Sanneh, and Modou Jallow by false pretence and with the intent to defraud, obtained from Alieu Badara Secka, the sum of ninety two thousand US dollars, on the understanding that you will provide him with thirty five kilos gold dust, which you never did and thereby committed an offence.”

The court papers further revealed that Sanneh and his co accused persons had obtained goods by false pretence, thereby breaking section 288 of the Criminal Code Cap 10.01 Vol 111, Revised Laws of The Gambia, 2009.

Count two of the criminal charges revealed that “Amadou Jago Sowe, Samba Leigh, Omar Sanneh, and Modou Jallow, sometime in the Year 2012, within the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, within the jurisdiction of Honourable Court by means of fraudulent trick obtained from Alieu Badara Secka, the sum of ninety two thousand US dollars under the pretext that you will provide him with thirty five kilos of gold dust and thereby committed an offence.”

Court three of the indictments also disclosed that ” “Amadou Jago Sowe, Samba Leigh, Omar Sanneh, and Modou Jallow, sometime in the Year 2012, within the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, within the jurisdiction of Honourable Court conspired amongst yourselves to commit a felony to wit; provided Alieu Badara Secka, copper dust instead of the agreed thirty five kilos of gold dust and thereby committed an offence.”

The court papers dated March 7th, 2013 was signed State Counsel Legenju Vitalise .N.

Sanneh and co’s trial was discontinued following the intervention of dictator Yahya Jammeh. Judicial sources said Sanneh’s case would be reactivated if he is seen within the jurisdiction of The Gambia.
