Businessman Hamidiou Jah, has purchased another Jammeh asset, located along the busy Kairaba Avenue, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The property was a residential home, owned by Edward Graham, the former Managing Director of the Social Security, Housing and Finance Corporation. Jammeh later seized the property from the Graham family and transformed it as a business plaza. There were shopping stores, gym, and A to 5 shops located in that property.

Hamidou Jah, widely known as Jah Oil, has purchased the property from the Janneh Commission auction sale. He wants to build a gas station in that heavily populated residential area.

Shop owners in that former Jammeh owned plaza have since been served notices to vacate the property. Demolition work has commenced on site.

Hamidou Jah, himself, have been supervising the demolition exercise and the construction of the gas station. A roving agent recently met him on site, where Jah could be seen directing the demolition exercise.

Jah has been cleared by the Barrow government to construct a gas station at the said busy residential area. The gas station, which is under construction, is opposite the “Alliance Franco-Gambienne” There is a football field in the said location.

Residents in the area have expressed concern about what they called the environmental risk associated with having such a gas station in their neighborhood.

“It is not safe to have a gas station in this populated neighborhood. If there is an accident, may God forbid, it could cause harm in the area,” said one resident.

Reports have it that despite repeated protest made by the community, for the government not to allow Jah to construct a gas station in the locality, but to no avail. Jah has prevailed over the community. He has been cleared to build a gas station in that locality.

Hamidou Jah, was reported to have bought the majority of Jammeh’s seized assets, such as trucks, lands, caterpillars, and other fancy vehicles.

Jah is a strong supporter of the Barrow government. Corrupt state Ministers could be seen walking in and out of his office.
