Gambia Registers 27 New COVID-19 Cases

Gambian health authorities have reported the registration of twenty-seven new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday 21st December 2021, bringing the total number of cases ever registered to ten thousand and seventy-eight.

The health authorities said no new COVID-19 related death was registered bringing the total death toll to three hundred forty-two.

“The positivity test rate for the newly confirmed cases is 2.77%, and no case is currently on oxygen therapy,” they reported.

This is the 410th national situation report since the confirmation of the first case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Gambia, on 16th March 2020.

The health authorities said thirty-six cases were discharged after spending at least ten days from the day they tested positive and that no patient evaded institutional isolation.
