GAMBIA’S NEW COVID-19 COORDINATOR!!
Yaya Duwa Sanyang: Mr. Sanyang has a Diploma in International Procurement Management (Turin, Italy); MA in Health Planning, Policy and Management (University of Leeds, UK) and BSc in Environmental Health and Epidemiology (University of IFE, Nigeria). Mr Sanyang started his professional career as a Health Planner in the Ministry of Health in The Gambia.
He rose through the ranks to become Project Director for the World Bank-led multi donor health and population sector reform programme. He worked for 4 years as Senior Health Adviser for Save the Children Fund in Mozambique and Sudan.
For some 3 years, Mr. Sanyang was in charge of UNICEF Supply Division for global routine vaccine supplies and vaccine forecasting.
For the last 17 years, he worked for WHO African Region in the areas of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and as part of the “Outbreak and Health Emergency” response team with responsibility for operations and logistics support.
