Four unnamed Hungarian clubs are interested in signing Gambia international Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally, The Chronicle can reveal.
The clubs, currently undisclosed, ply their trade in the OTP Bank Liga, the top division in the Central European country and are believed to have all qualified to the UEFA club competitions (Champions League and Europa League) for next season.
The Chronicle also understands that the 25-year-old is also attracting interest from a top club in the Bulgarian First League.
The Scorpions forward is currently on loan in the United Arab Emirates with Ajman Club from Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab FC.
When contacted for reaction about the developments, Steve Trawally was tight-lipped over his future saying: “I cannot specifically say anything right now as I am focused on my training and getting fitter by the day. I leave the issues of my next move to my agent and clubs interested.”
“I have a contract with Al-Shabab FC which I respect and I am their player, my focus is playing, doing well and scoring goals on the pitch; outside of it, I have people responsible and doing it for me.”
Steve has scored seven goals in 16 league matches for Ajman before the cancellation of the UAE Pro League due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
It now remains to be seen whether Steve will return to Al-Shabab FC with Europe said to be his preferred next destination.
