The Managing Director National Water and Electricity Company Alpha Robinson has been removed on Friday; The Chronicle has reliably learned.

The spokesperson of NAWEC, Pierre Sylva said although there’s no official communication yet to that effect, he can confirm the relief of Robinson who has been replaced by Nani Juawara.

Nani had deputized both Robinson and Fafa Fatajo before his recent elevation to the top job.

He has become the third managing director for the utility company since 2017.

It’s unclear what caused Robinson’s sacking. Five hours ago, he presided over the signing ceremony of the World Bank funded $225 million Energy Project through ECOWAS. He also conducted an inspection tour to see the newly commissioned engines in Bansang yesterday.

NAWEC has ever been under constant public criticism for the poor service provision in both water and electricity, particularly in recent times. The company would frequently apologize to customers, citing extended load shedding and technical problems of their generators.
