Reassignment in foreign missions: Ambassador Ebou Manneh recalled from Freetown

The Chronicle has been reliably informed that a silent redeployment recently took place in the Gambia’s Foreign Service. It’s important to note that the reassignments have injected several staffs from other government departments in the affected Foreign missions.

Alieu Jammeh, Ambassador to Guinea Bissau has been redeployed to Sierra Leone under the same diplomatic capacity. Meaning Ambassador Ebraima Manneh who has headed Gambia’s mission in Freetown since 2018 has been recalled. Our source did not however indicate if ambassador Manneh will be redeployed elsewhere or if he has been sent packing for good.

Other movements in the diplomatic missions include sending Abdoulie Bah of the ministry of Foreign affairs to Morocco where he will serve as Deputy Head of mission.

Lamin Singhateh of the Accountant General’s Directorate is also deployed to Gambia’s embassy in India as Deputy Head of mission.

Abdoulie Hydara is sent to Gambia’s diplomatic mission in Nigeria as Deputy Head. Equally sent in Nigeria is Yaya Samateh of the ministry of Trade who will serve in the mission as Counselor.

Muhammed Jah of the ministry of Foreign affairs is deployed to Saudi Arabia as Deputy Head of mission while

Dr. Maryam John who was in the Gambia embassy of France is now redeployed to Senegal as Deputy Head of mission.
