Travel plans for the Gambia national team to Gambian and back to Banjul for the 12 and 16 November Afcon tie are being worked out as planned, GFF second VP Ebou Faye told The Standard yesterday.
With new restrictions in most parts of Europe where the players are based, Coach Tom Saintfiet is still studying and waiting for confirmations as to which player will be available before he trims his squad to 23.
According to Mr Faye, the plan is to converge the players in Paris where there are direct flights to Libreville. ”We have reserved tickets without confirming them of course until the final list is drawn. The plan for the return leg is for the team to fly from Libreville to Dakar in time for the 16th November,” Faye said. He further revealed that if at all there will be home based players, them and any officials will be flown from Dakar to Libreville.
The Gambia will play Gabon on 12 and 16 November in Libreville and Banjul respectively in the Afcon 2022 qualifiers
