3 nabbed with suspected drugs

The 26-year-old Bakary Bojang was arrested at a Vehicle Check Point (VCP) between Gunjur and Kartong on 25 February 2022.

He was arrested with 60 tablets of clonazepam tablets hidden under the passenger’s seat of an ash-coloured Opel Vehicle with registration number WCR 7405 A.

27-year-old Sulayman Barrow was also arrested at Gunjur Barrow Kunda on the 24 February 2022 with 57 stones of suspected cannabis resin (hashish)

Baye Nyass was grabbed at Balangarr village on the 27 February 2022 with 11 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa.

The suspects were in custody while investigations continue.

Musa Batchilly, an executive member of Gambia Action Party (GAP), was on the 7th July, 2020, paraded before Principal Magistrate Isatou Janneh-Njie of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 288 of the Criminal Code.
