Overview
Augustus Prom – Audit. Tax. Advisory. was established in 1984 providing services of accounting, auditing, taxation and business advisory services. The firm has grown from a small establishment over its thirty year plus history to become of the leading service providers in The Gambia and continuing to render such services and increasing its service portfolio.
The Firm has over 100 clients ranging from :
- Companies in all sectors of the Economy – from SMEs to Large and Multi-National Corporations ;
- Non Government / Non Profit Organizations (NGOs);
- The Gambia Government – Public Enterprises and Agencies;
- International Donor & Agency Projects funded by – the World Bank, African Development Bank, Global Fund, United Nations (UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA), Islamic Development Bank, EU , IFAD etc.
The Firm has independently conducted and is still conducting financial audit assignments in the sub region: in Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone and Liberia. It had also conducted audits in Dakar, Senegal. The firm had in the past cooperated with Coopers & Lybrand of UK on management consultancy assignments conducted in the Gambia and recently done audit and advisory collaborations with international firms such as BDO and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The firm has staff complements of over thirty members with technical staff ranging from those with professional qualifications such as ACCA ( Chartered Accountants ), Bachelors and Masters Degree holders and qualified accounting technicians, i.e. AAT & CAT.The firm implements in-house training programs, ACCA/ISA/IFRS Materials, Training Consultants) to enhance technical performance of it’s staff members and also sponsors audit managers with potential for higher graduate education.
The Firm is registered annually with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of U.K. (ACCA) and is also registered annually with the Gambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (GICA) and The Gambia Public Procurement Authority (GPPA).
