Sustained development of the fisheries, climate and water sectors and the economic benefits therein as well as the welfare of its stakeholders guided by policy frameworks which recognize that responsible resources management is essential for sustained development, for now and for the future.

The Gambias Foreign Policy priorities are based on the values and objectives stipulated in the countrys Vision 2020 Development blueprint and other development strategy documents. Under the Vision 2020, The Gambias Foreign Policy seeks to adopt a more pro-active stance with the aim of mobilizing greater international support for the country’s development.

Mission

To Promote and protect the health of the population by providing a comprehensive healthcare package in partnership with all relevant stakeholders; ensure high coverage of basic healthcare services; achieve staff training and retention; ensure a reduction of maternal and infant mortality and morbidity; ensure reduction of communicable and non-communicable diseases; strengthen and support Health Communication Programmes; ensure reduction in the frequency of environmental health and safety related problems and diseases; and establish a mechanism for health services financing risk protection for all.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) was establishment in 2007.

The ministrys departments are the Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Research and Planning and the Science and Technology Directorate.

The MOJ is headed by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and deputized by the Solicitor General & Legal Secretary and Deputy Permanent Secretary. The Ministry currently has six Departments, each headed by a Director, and these are: Criminal Division, Civil Litigation, Legislative Drafting, Registrar General, Companies and Curator of Interstate Estate.
