Overview
Sunu Buss is the QCell philosophy. “Sunu Buss” means “ours” in Wollof. We believe that QCell is for all Gambians by Gambians. Sunu Buss is Gambians coming together and supporting each other in the development of our nation.
The Gambia like most African countries has over the past decade seen tremendous investment and development in telecommunications technology. The Gambia’s telecoms industry has witnessed massive liberalization ushering in keen competition.
In August 2008 a new GSM company, QCell was issued a license by the Gambia government.
QCell began commercial operations on July 1st 2009 QCell is the vision of a young Gambian Entrepreneur with more than 10 years’ experience in the IT business, Muhammed Jah who is well known in The Gambia and the entire West African sub region for innovative and technologically advanced products and services.
QCell is The Gambia’s only 3G+ GSM service Provider and thus offers services that until now were not available in this country. QCell’s network is nationwide with 3G service available in the Greater Banjul Area, Farafenni and Basse.
QCell’s customers enjoy the clearest possible voice calls, video calls and 3G/Edge Internet access on their mobiles.
